Privacy Policy

We collect as little as we can, and we never sell it.

How THEVYN handles personal data on thevynlabs.com and in our software. Last updated 18 October 2026.

In short

  • The website has no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
  • BlenDock keeps your projects on your computer. It has no account and sends us nothing; only a licence key is checked with Dodo Payments.
  • We receive personal data only if you email us or buy a licence.
  • We never sell personal data or use it for advertising.

1.Who we are

THEVYN ("we", "us") makes workflow software for Blender and Unity artists. THEVYN is the trading name of Chirag Vekariya, Nava Vadaj, Ahmedabad, 380013, India. This policy explains how we handle personal data on thevynlabs.com (the "website") and in our software, starting with BlenDock. If you have a question about it, email [email protected].

2.The website

We built the website to collect as little as possible:

  • No cookies, and nothing stored in your browser.
  • No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and no third-party embeds.
  • No forms. Nothing on the site asks for your name or email address.
  • Fonts, images and videos are served from our own site, so loading a page does not contact Google, YouTube or any other third party.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., receives the technical details that every web request carries: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It uses them to deliver the website and protect it from abuse, keeps them for a short period under its own privacy policy, and we use them only for security and troubleshooting.

Links to other websites, such as Blender's, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.

3.When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write or attach. We use it only to reply and help you. We keep it while we need it to handle your request, then delete it, normally within two years. Our email provider stores messages on our behalf.

Please send only what we need. In particular, don't send .blend files, backups or other project files unless we ask for them.

4.When you buy a licence

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Dodo Payments is the seller of record for the transaction: it takes the payment, calculates and pays the tax, and issues your receipt. It collects your name, email address, billing country or address and payment details, and handles them under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card or bank details.

From Dodo Payments we receive what we need to provide your licence and support: your name, email address, country, the product and plan you bought, the price paid, your order number and your licence key.

We keep these for as long as you hold a licence, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which in India is generally up to eight years.

5.Licence keys

When you activate a Pro or Studio key, BlenDock contacts the licensing service of Dodo Payments to activate the key, to check it (at most once a day, while you are online), or to release an activation when you deactivate. It sends the key, your computer's name as the label for that activation, and the activation's ID, and receives back whether the key is valid and which plan it belongs to. This is how a plan's activation limit is enforced. It never sends your files or any project information. Without an internet connection an activated key keeps working.

The 14-day free trial needs no account and sends nothing. BlenDock records the date of its first launch on your computer, in its data folder and in your Windows user settings (the registry, under Software\THEVYN\BlenDock), so that resetting BlenDock does not restart the trial. You can delete that registry entry yourself at any time.

6.BlenDock on your computer

BlenDock is local-first. Everything it works with stays on your computer: your project list, file details, remarks, settings, analysis results, asset index, thumbnails, backups and crash reports. It has no account and no sign-in, and contains no analytics, advertising or automatic crash reporting. It never sends your .blend files or project information to us.

Some features go online. Licence keys go to Dodo Payments, as described above. When it starts, BlenDock asks thevynlabs.com whether a newer version of BlenDock has been released; that request sends nothing about you or your projects, only what any web request reveals (your IP address) and the BlenDock version. Everything else goes only to official Blender services: blender.org, download.blender.org, builder.blender.org and cdn.builder.blender.org for release lists, checksums and downloads, and projects.blender.org to look up the exact version of a file. Like any web request, these reveal your IP address to the Blender service, which handles it under its own policy. BlenDock is independent and is not affiliated with the Blender Foundation.

If you copy BlenDock's diagnostics or send us a crash report, backup or project file, you choose what to send. These can contain folder paths and project names, so please check them first.

To remove BlenDock's data, use Reset in Settings, or delete its data folder: %LocalAppData%\BlendDock, or the Data folder beside a portable copy. Uninstalling keeps that folder on purpose, so projects are not lost by accident.

7.Our other tools

Before any of our other tools handles personal data, we will update this policy.

8.Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only:

  • with the services that run parts of our business for us, each only for its own job: Cloudflare for website hosting, GitHub for BlenDock downloads, our email provider, and Dodo Payments for payments;
  • when the law requires it, such as a valid order from a court or authority;
  • to protect our rights or the safety of our users, for example against fraud.

9.Where data is processed

We are based in India. Our providers may process data in other countries, including the United States, and protect it under their own contracts and policies when they do.

10.Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it; ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it; withdraw any consent you have given; and nominate someone to act for you. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have rights under the GDPR, including access, portability and objection.

Email [email protected] to use any of these rights. We reply within 30 days, and may ask for information to confirm it is you. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to the data protection authority where you live.

11.Children

The website and our software are made for professional creative work and are not aimed at children. You must be 18 or older to buy a licence. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children; if you think a child has sent us some, email us and we will delete it.

12.Security

We keep the personal data we hold to a minimum and protect it with access controls and our providers' security measures. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will tell you if a breach affects it.

13.Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you before it takes effect.

14.Contact and grievance officer

Questions, requests and complaints about this policy go to our grievance officer.

We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 10 working days of receiving it.
